Talk:Temporary hit point

From NWNWiki

Jump to: navigation, search

While I was revising stuff, I removed the following from the article:
Player characters should beware of resting when under the effect of a spell granting temporary hit points. If the temporary hit points are the difference between life and death the player character will die in his/her sleep!
Is this true? Since temporary hit points are used up before regular hit points, how can the temporary hit points be the difference between life and death? --The Krit 03:39, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

  • Maybe they're speaking of the oh-so-very-temporary hp granted by a CON spell buff? Chamalscuro 14:48, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
  • Possibly. If so, that part should remain deleted since those hit points are not the subject of the article.
Hmmm.... It might be possible to hit someone who's near-death with temporary hit points, then lower that someone's constitution (lose a buff or actual ability drain), and get into this "life only by temporary hit points" situation. That seems a bit obscure to warrant mentioning though. --The Krit 16:41, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
  • I think they speak about endurance/Aura of vitality extra constitution cause its temporary hit point not endurance buff. You cant die by temporary hit point. The only way is a -10 HP system on death and you cast aid or something for revive. -ILKAY
  • I actually made the same mistake, I was about to say "yeah, that happened to me once!" then remembered it was because I took off a pair of boots of striding. 71.255.68.203 01:19, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
  • Has anyone tested temp hitpoint + constitution decrease. It could be something as simple as you rage, take damage, drink a potion of aid, wait for the rage to wear off, and all you have left health-wise is temp hit points. WhiZard 03:52, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
