Prestige class
From NWNWiki
- "PrC" redirects here. For "PRC", see Player Resource Consortium.
Prestige classes are like base classes, except they have requirements that must be met before one can attain the class. These powerful classes grant characters unique new abilities unavailable to the base classes. A prestige class cannot be chosen for a starting character, it must be earned through careful advancement. Be aware of the prerequisites before planning which prestige class to take. Some classes may require a certain number of ranks in one or more skills, others may require the ability to cast arcane or divine spells.
[edit] Level advancement
Prestige classes can become epic as well, though they function a little differently than normal classes. At class level 10, level advancement in a prestige class stops until the character's total level (the sum of all their class levels) is 20 or higher. Once this threshold is crossed, the character may advance to level 11 and higher with his or her prestige class.
[edit] NWN prestige classes
Each class has a range of abilities that make it substantially different from the other classes. These abilities are an integral part of the character's class, and mastering them will aid the player.
In NWN, prestige classes include
- arcane archer (SoU),
- assassin (SoU),
- blackguard (SoU),
- champion of Torm (HotU),
- dwarven defender (HotU),
- Harper scout (SoU),
- pale master (HotU),
- purple dragon knight (patch 1.69),
- red dragon disciple (HotU),
- shadowdancer (SoU),
- shifter (HotU), and
- weapon master (HotU).
[edit] Notes
- HotU does not include SoU prestige classes. To access the SoU classes, the player must have SoU installed.
