- This is the only weapon that causes this kind of damage, despite maces and flails exhibiting the same qualities.
- Morningstars may not be wielded in a player character's off-hand.
- The term "morningstar" does not actually refer to a type of weapon, but to the spiked ball attached to such weapons. Attaching a spiked ball to a handle via a chain results in a morningstar flail, while attaching a spiked ball to a handle without a chain results in a morningstar mace.
