Escape from the Underdark

Escape from the Underdark (EfU, EftU) is a persistent world server set in a non-canonical section of the Underdark. The focal point of the server is the town of Sanctuary, a settlement founded and inhabited by ex-slaves of the evil Underdark races such as the drow, mind flayers or beholders.
EfU is a low-level, low-magic roleplay server. Most of the player characters are escaped slaves with varying backgrounds, trying to find a way back to the surface world or living a new life in the Underdark. DM-interaction with PCs is frequent and there are plenty of special scripts and scripted quests in place, including a subrace system that supports drow, duergar, goblins, kobolds and other non-standard races.
The server also supports an ambient loot system, allowing area-appropriate drops that can be used to further one's chances of survival. Ex: Killing a wererat and finding on its corpse a charm capable of summoning rats to your aid. This system lends a great deal of depth and immersion to the server, and can greatly further role-play.

Escape from the Underdark can be found under PW Story in Gamespy. Using direct connect to efu.us.to is also possible. The server uses no haks or password, but visiting the website and forums first is strongly recommended to learn the rules and the setting.
