If you're reading this, you should provide a more detailed description. However, I know some things. ECL refers to the extra experience needed to level up. This happens because you've chosen a sub-race that is considerable more powerful in some way than a normal race. Example: Were-Drakes are immensely more powerful in mind and body than any of the other races. If you play as one (rare) you will need several times the normal experience to level up. It balances, however, as you are playing a demi-god!
