Area of effect
From NWNWiki
Area of effect refers to both the shape and size of the region a spell occupies when it is triggered.
The shape of an area of effect may be one of the following.
- Cylinder
- This is effectively a rectangle extending the specified distance in the direction the spell is aimed, with a width of 3 meters.
- Spellcone
- The origin of the cone is the caster, with an angle of 60 degrees. The cone extends in the direction the spell was cast to the specified distance.
- Sphere
- This has the specified radius, centered at the spell's target.
For spells that do not have a true "area" of effect, the type of target may be indicated by one of the following.
- Caster
- Only the caster is affected. These spells usually do not need to be targeted.
- Point
- The spell summons a creature at the targeted location.
- Single
- Only the targeted object is affected.
The size of an area of effect may be one of the following. When just a size is given, the shape is assumed to be a sphere (hence the size indicates the radius).
| Small | 1.67 meters |
| Medium | 3.33 meters |
| Large | 5 meters |
| Huge | 6.67 meters |
| Gargantuan | 8.33 meters |
| Colossal | 10 meters |
